Where is your Maple Syrup produced?

100% of our products are sourced and made on our farm from our maple sugar bush then bottled and ready for use at our family farm, located just outside of Allenford, ON

What type of evaporator do you use?

At Thomas Family Farm we have a conventional wood fired evaporator made by Dominion and Grimm. This evaporator is capable of boiling down 150 Gallons of maple sap per hour.

What is the shelf life of your products?

When stored correctly, 100% pure Grade A maple syrup will keep for a long time. Maple syrup should be kept in a refrigerator after opening. If unopened maple syrup is shelf stable at room temperature.

Is there sugar added to maple syrup during processing?

No. All sugars present in maple syrup come from nature. They are present in the raw maple sap that is collected from the trees in the spring time. Collected raw sap usually has a sugar content between 1.5% and 2.5%. The sap is then concentrated and boiled until it reaches approximately 66% or greater.

Does Thomas Family Farm host Tours?

We do our best to accommodate as many tours as possible during the busy sapping season. We will also do our best to accommodate off season tours as well. Tours are available by appointment only. Please call or email to inquire about availability and times.

At Thomas Family Farm we sell only 100% Ontario Grade A Maple Syrup. Below are the revised regulations and the colour classification system now in use by most maple syrup producing regions in North America. Colour classification shall be according to Table 5 in the regulations, as follows:
